Crime

After dusk the ducks go down
to a calm that is eerily decided
and in the dark before the dawn
where man is drenched in little fears
that dance often in hidden distances

where wolves weary on the prowl
weave past obstacles woven in towns
in the spots that light wanes most
that is where the wolves wait

where any culprit may cudgel
a victim caught by such bad luck
and many a callous criminal could
cause harm to any cautious captive

lucky dawn dips up dashing
any hold the dark had, upholding
fast the hopes of getting home
defiantly without dent or detriment
