Lull Moon, Bye

escaped moon

What if the Moon fails
to pull on the seas
no more here’s
no more leaves

Where pollution no longer
become another’s problem
where the cold meets not the warm
and the warn mingles not the cold

With weather systems not driven
what then if the Moon
no longer pulls on the seas
no more here’s
no more leaves

Food chains broken and in demise
with plankton swimming
in a global lake, a sea retired
where every plastic bag discarded
stays put where it was thrown

Where beaches are no longer renewed
where moonlight fails to reach
what then if the Moon
no longer pulls on the seas
no more here’s
no more leaves

Some scientists think we don’t need the Moon to believe
but then at night how will I truly breathe

What then if the Moon
no longer pulls on the seas
no more here’s
no more leaves
