Badger (a Charles Bukowski Parody)

There’s a badger in my room
that wants to get out
but I’m too tough for him,
I say, stay in there, I’m not going
to let anybody see
you.
there’s a badger in my room that
wants to get out
but I pour milk on him and keep his
hair combed
and the neighbours and the landlord
and all that pass by
never know that
he’s
in there.

There’s a badger in my room that
wants to get out
but I’m too tough for him,
I say,
stay down, do you want to mess
up your hair?
you want to rip up the
duvet?
do you want to chase the cat
next door?
there’s a badger in my room that
wants to get out
but I’m too clever, I only let him out
at night sometimes
when everybody’s asleep.

I say, I know that you’re there,
so don’t be
sad.
then I put him back,
but he’s pouting a little
in there, I won’t quite let him
escape
and he sleeps at the bottom
of the bed
with our
secret pact
and it’s nice enough to
keep my feet
warm, but I’m too
warm, are
you?

So after 9 days of haiku and national poetry month I decided I wanted a little fun so I revised this a bit. Join me for a smile
