Oh sweetest leaf, oh briefest leaf
carried on Gaia’s breath,
falling ever falling,
but never to the ground.
Oh briefest leaf, the least of leaves
never will I hold.
You fell from the fable tree,
and gifted me, of that I have no doubt,
you never knew of landing,
so never made a sound.
Oh briefest leaf, the beast of leaves
now I do scold.
Oh briefest leaf, no knowledge
of your truth could I gain,
when parting from my sight,
so never to be found.
Last one before I have to go to work.
